David Thomas - Vice-Chair

David Thomas is a solicitor and has been a legal consultant to several animal protection and human rights NGOs over the years. He is co-founder of Advocates for Animals, the UK's first law firm dedicated to animal protection.
 

David has advised on numerous undercover investigations into animal cruelty and taken many test cases, here and abroad, against public bodies. David is a consultant to a leading human rights firm and for several years acted as a legal officer to Child Poverty Action Group.

He has been chair of the Society, a director of Cruelty-Free International and trustee of Compassion in World Farming. He's also written numerous articles and columns about law and ethics, especially in the campaigning context, and has written and contributed to several books.
