We're appealing for information after a puppy was found dumped inside a wheelie bin on Christmas Eve. Can you help?
The terrier puppy, thought to be aged four to five months old, was discovered in the domestic bin on Narborough Road in Leicester on Thursday, 24 December.
She is black-and-tan coloured with a white streak on her chest. She was very timid and cold, but otherwise healthy.
The dog was taken to the RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre in Leicester where she was named Eve by staff and has since been offered a new home.
Supervisor at Woodside, Kirstyn Gaunt, said: "Eve was lucky to have been found, especially as it was so cold. She was a bit nervous, but seems to be getting more used to us now.
"It is such a shame that someone decided to dump her rather than seek help."
We're also appealing to anyone who knows anything about an eight-week-old cross-breed puppy left abandoned in a ladies public toilet in Wrotham village, near Sevenoaks, Kent, just over a week earlier.
On Tuesday, 15 December, a concerned member of the public heard the young male pup making a noise and rescued the cold, scared dog, before reporting the abandoned animal to the RSPCA.
The puppy, now named Armitage after the popular make of toiletware, is currently being cared for in Wrotham while we appeal for information surrounding the abandonment.
Abandoning an animal is against the law. If you have any information at all about Eve or Armitage, please contact us in confidence on the RSPCA 24-hour cruelty line: 0300 1234 999.
