The RSPCA has many dogs in its care differing in breed, age and background. How do you make sure you’re matched with the most suitable companion for you? That’s where the RSPCA are at your service. We aim to carefully match each dog to the right owner based on you, your family, your lifestyle and circumstances. Right now we’re looking to find new owners for Staffies. Take a look around this site or visit your local RSPCA centre to get to know a dog today.
Staffy of the Week
We have lots of great Staffies with all sorts of personalities in our care. This week we’re featuring ...Cheeka!
Cheeka is one of our longest-stay residents and we are determined to find her a new home this year!
She is a beautiful young brindle and white staffie who has been in our care since December 2010. She can’t understand why all her kennel mates have found new homes but she keeps being overlooked again and again.
She is a favourite among the staff and volunteers at the centre and is always happy to go for a walk or play ball. Cheeka has a lively nature and has shown to love learning tricks and commands.
She gets on well with other dogs but after being in kennels for so long she would ideally be rehomed as an only dog so she can get all the attention she has missed out on for so long.
She gets on well with kids and would be fine living with older children. She cannot live with cats. She is looking for a home where there is someone around for most of the day so she can get used to a home environment again.
As you can see from the photo Cheeka enjoys her agility classes and would benefit from continuing the training, which will also help create a strong bond between her and her new owner. Ideally she is looking for an experienced owner who can channel her energy in the right way.
Cheeka is a wonderful girl and is waiting patiently every day for someone to look past the stereotypes surrounding her breed and offer her a second chance.
Please come to visit Cheeka - we are sure you'd love her!
