Put animal welfare on the political agenda in Wales
Protecting pets across Wales and leaving cruel farming practices in the past are just some of the vital issues that need our help.
85% of people in Wales believe that animal welfare should be protected by governments through legislation – and so do we.

Politics for every kind: Wales’ politicians need to hear from you
We’re speaking up on behalf of all animals in Wales – but we need you to join the conversation.
Use your voice to secure a kinder place for our nation’s pets, farm animals and wildlife. One where all animals are protected and treated with the kindness and respect they deserve.

Actions speak louder than words
Wales is a nation of animal lovers, with a proud history of protecting animals. But there’s still more to be done.
Tell all political parties in Wales that animals must stay on the agenda, and ask them to turn promises into policy for every kind — addressing issues such as:
- Pet theft: by introducing bigger penalties rather than small fines
- Irresponsible cat breeding: by improving the conditions and care for kittens and cats
- Horse tethering: by prioritising freedom of movement and horse welfare
- Archaic farming practices such as the use of cages: by pushing for better conditions for caged animals
We want to see statutory powers for our fearless inspectors and frontline workers, to help rescue, rehome and rehabilitate more animals than ever before.
“We have a huge, promising opportunity to improve the lives of countless animals across Wales. It’s time to take action and protect the animals that shape our lives.”
85% of people in Wales believe that animal welfare should be protected by governments through legislation.
