The RSPCA and MONOPOLY GO! are celebrating pets who love to play this St. Valentine's Day - as part of a unique collaboration between the animal welfare charity and one of the world's most popular and beloved mobile games.
MONOPOLY GO’s ‘Pets Season’ is currently mobilising its global player community to show their love for animals in need - giving its players the chance to learn more about pets, animal welfare, and responsible ownership.
It comes as new polling shows 47% of people considered getting their pet a Valentine’s Day gift this year - almost as many as those thinking of purchasing a present for their partner (56%)!
Women were almost as likely (48%) to be considering a Valentine's Day gift for a pet than a partner (49%).
And younger Brits were more likely to be spending on pets than a partner this Valentine's Day - with 70% of those aged 18-24 considering getting their pet a February 14 treat, compared with 67% of those considering the same for a partner.
The RSPCA says the data shows the "love and fondness" people across the country have for their pets.
Lauren Bennett, Scientific and Policy Officer at RSPCA, said: "We're widely known as a nation of animal lovers - and the fact that almost as many of us are thinking of getting a Valentine's Day gift for our pet as our partner shows the love and fondness we have for our animals.”
To celebrate the special bond play can deliver between people and rescue animals, six pets looking for love this Valentine's Day have been named after well loved characters and terminology linked to the famous MONOPOLY GO! mobile game.
Lauren added: “While many pets may be getting a little treat from their owners this Valentine’s Day, sadly there’s still countless animals in the RSPCA’s care looking for a new forever home - and a special new partner.”
Doggy trio Mr Monopoly, Scottie and Tycoon, are joined by Duke the cat, Nibbles the rabbit and Loop the hamster - all of whom hope to pass GO and land the perfect new property this Valentine’s Day!

Who will take a chance and roll the dice on these amazing rescue pets?
RSPCA Bath & District Branch is looking for a home for Mr Monopoly - a confident, charismatic and chatty cat who shares many personality traits with his namesake, the world famous mascot and face of MONOPOLY GO!
He’s friendly with new people and full of character - and is looking for a home with a stable routine where he can enjoy plenty of interaction - strictly on his own terms!
The 10-year-old Bengal crossbred tabby cat loves to play - particularly feathery wand toys, and is looking for a home where he can take charge as the only pet!
Scottie, the loyal canine companion of Mr Monopoly, is one of the most well loved characters in MONOPOLY GO! - but it’s also the name of a young blue crossbreed dog at the charity's Ashley Heath Animal Centre.
Despite the illustrious connotations of his Monopoly moniker, Scottie has not had the best start in life - and came into the RSPCA's care aged only four months after being removed from a home offering unsuitable conditions.
A previous adoption opportunity fell through - meaning Scottie is on the look out for new owners who can offer him time, patience and give him adequate training to guide him through his adolescent phase.
The larger breed pup is full of energy, and always on the go - so may benefit from new owners with experience of larger breeds, or the patience and understanding to help him thrive.
MONOPOLY GO!’s global community of 10 million daily active players are known as ‘Tycoons’ - and that is also the name of a handsome, young bully cross at Ashley Heath Animal Centre looking to collect new owners!
Three-year-old Tycoon arrived at the RSPCA in early 2025 and has proven to be an energetic and athletic dog - looking for an owner who will continue the training he has started with the RSPCA, and be prepared to handle his physical strength.
American Bulldog crossbreed Tycoon is prone to over-excitement - so will also need a calm environment and patient new owner; and who will also indulge his love of playing with chews and toys.
Duke stars in MONOPOLY GO! as an aristocratic cat with a love of top hats and an unshakable sense of superiority. But it is also the name of a four-year-old grey coloured domestic longhaired crossbreed at the RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre in Wimblington.
However, unlike his digital namesake, Duke is feeling a bit nervous right now - and needs a new owner who can make him feel sure about the world, and help him take life at his own gentle pace.
Stunning Duke may be shy - but one way to his heart is treats. Block Fen staff are confident that patient owners can build a great relationship with Duke and really boost his confidence.
Nibbles is another new pet character introduced into MONOPOLY GO!’s new Pets Season - and is a cheerful bunny who thrives on teamwork and sharing.
But Nibbles is also a nine month old female rabbit at the RSPCA's Bristol Animal Rescue Centre. The young female rabbit that came into the charity's care as a stray - and is a special girl with one back leg shorter than the other.
Nibbles - a friendly and curious bunny - is looking for a home with another rabbit as she would enjoy the company once they are bonded, and would prefer an indoor space with plenty of room to run and play.

Find Loop in Monopoly GO!
Loop features in MONOPOLY GO! as a tiny ball of boundless hamster energy who lives to roll - but the name also belongs to a two-year-old black and white Syrian hamster at the charity's Newbrook Farm centre in Birmingham.
The young small furry is super friendly, confident and has the sweetest nature - enjoying being at the heart of everything going on around her. She takes treats happily from people's hands, and has a particular love of blueberries!
Loop is calm, happy to be carefully handled, and is looking for a new property offering a large enclosure with plenty of enrichment.
The RSPCA’s partnership with the Scopely-made blockbuster mobile game is highlighting the power of play and its important role in the rehabilitation of pets.
Players can help raise funds for the RSPCA while collecting an exclusive animal themed shield through their play.
This gives MONOPOLY GO! players - known as Tycoons - the chance to do their bit for every kind while enjoying the gameplay. If players pass GO five million times collectively by March 4, the donation to the RSPCA will increase - supporting the charity’s work rehabilitating animals.
More information on the RSPCA’s partnership with MONOPOLY GO!, and how people can get involved and play to help animals in need, can be found online.
