All the rescue dogs at our Gonsal Farm Animal Centre are going to be on their best behaviour on Sunday, 4 December as TV dog trainer Victoria Stilwell pays them a visit.
Best known for hit TV series, 'It’s me or the dog', Victoria is making a special guest appearance at the Gonsal Farm Christmas fayre in Dorrington, Shrewsbury where she will be speaking to the public and signing her latest book - 'It’s me or the dog – how to have the perfect pet'.
Celebrity visit gives a boost
Although born in England, Victoria now lives and works in America rarely visiting the UK, so her trip to Shropshire is quite a boost to the staff and volunteers at the animal centre.
Di Jones, deputy manager at Gonsal Farm Animal Centre said:
We are thrilled and excited to be welcoming Victoria to Shropshire and our Christmas fayre on Sunday.
We really appreciate her taking the time to support us and the work we do at Gonsal. Caring for and rehabilitating rescue animals and in particular dogs can be a real challenge and Victoria knows this only too well.
But she also knows the pleasure and extreme satisfaction we get from turning around an animal's life with the ultimate aim of finding them a loving new home.
Speaking about her visit, Victoria Stilwell said:
I have been involved in animal rescue for 25 years. Rescue shelter organisations such as the RSPCA give abandoned animals a safe haven and a chance to find another home.
Shelters like Gonsal Farm Animal Centre provide a valuable service to the community by helping raise awareness on a wide range of animal related issues while defending the vulnerable and educating the public about responsible handling and care.
