The Jack Russell terrier was admitted into the care of our Blackberry Animal Centre on the evening of Saturday, 29 December.

On arrival she was extremely thin and suffering from severe fur loss caused by an allergic reaction to skin mites.

Flower blossoming in our care

Centre staff named her Flower and just one month later, after lots of baths, treatment and food she has really started to blossom.

Animal centre manager, Julie Allen said:

She is a lovely little girl who has come such a long way in a short period of time.  TLC and a little bit of effort - just shows what can be done and why there is no excuse for animal cruelty and neglect.

Flower’s condition continues to improve with each day and it is hoped the two-year-old will soon be ready to find a new home.

Deputy animal centre manager, Paula Flitney, said:

"Flower is a lively, friendly Jack Russell terrier. She has a really sweet nature and gets on well with everyone.

"She will make a wonderful pet to the right owner."

Can you help?

We’re still investigating Flower’s abandonment.

Although she was microchipped, the person identified by the microchip log said they had rehomed her with someone in Bedford.

RSPCA Inspector Kirsty Withnall who is investigating said:

Some heartless person has just dumped her not knowing if she would be cared for by the people who found her.
