Sick puppies sold at car boot sale

We want to hear from anyone with information after Dalmatian puppies suffering from parvovirus were bought at a car boot sale in Peterborough.
We were informed of eight puppies all bought from the same man, which have been diagnosed with the virus. Sadly six have died and the other two are dangerously ill.
The man was believed to have been selling the pups at the car boot in London Road on Sunday, 14 August. He is also believed to have tried to sell puppies in the Beaver Road area of the city.
It is understood he was trying to sell 13 puppies in total and their mum. The pups were aged between 12 and 13 weeks old.
RSPCA animal welfare officer Kathy Hornig said:
Sadly all the puppies that have been bought have been suffering from parvovirus and six have died. We are deeply concerned by this and we would urge anyone with any information to contact the RSPCA.
One of the puppies was bought in the Welland Estate area of Peterborough which is near to a dog walking area.
Urging pet owners to be extra vigilant
Whilst it seems these incidents all appear to be isolated we would urge pet owners to be extra vigilant with their pets and if they appear to be showing signs of sickness take them to a vet straight away.
There has not been an outbreak of the virus, and this appears to be an isolated incident, but if pet owners can take steps to protect their pets in the first place then we would clearly urge them to do so.
Protect your pet by ensuring they receive regular vaccinations.
