Statement on the death of two police dogs

28.06.11

The RSPCA was contacted on Sunday, 26 June regarding an allegation of two police dogs left in a vehicle at the police training centre in Keston, Bromley, that morning.

The collapsed dogs had been taken from the vehicle by staff at the centre and were taken to a vet surgery where they subsequently died. We are investigating the incident.

In hot weather we would urge people never to leave dogs in vehicles for any length of time.

We won't be saying any more than this because this is now a live investigation.  However this is an opportunity to remind people of the messages regarding never leaving dogs in hot vehicles.
