Last chance to tell government we care about lab animals

A step back for lab animals? © RSPCA

We have until Monday, 5 September to tell the government that we will NOT accept any weakening of our current UK lab animal law.

On Monday, a government consultation on how to implement the EU Directive into a new UK law on animal research and testing will come to a close.

Stop the government taking a step back for lab animals

Whilst the new directive could be a good thing for animals in some European countries, standards are higher here in the UK so this could mean a significant step back for animal welfare.

We need you to tell the government that we will not accept any weakening of our current UK lab animal law.

So far over 4,500 supporters have taken action, which is great but we need more. Please, help lab animals and take action today.

What this could mean for lab animal welfare in the UK

Watch our animation to see what the EU directive, which threatens to weaken UK law, could mean for lab animals in the UK.

It could mean far fewer official checks on laboratories, some animals suffering long-lasting ‘severe’ pain and distress, and inhumane methods of killing animals being allowed.

Tell the government you care about lab animal welfare.
