Trustees' Annual Report and Accounts
Our 2025 Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts showcases the huge range of work we carried out – with our partners and the public – to improve animals’ lives in 2025. It was a year of enormous challenges, with our centres often full and our animal care costs soaring. But, by continuing to build our millions-strong movement for animal welfare, we helped more animals than ever, and more quickly.
2025 highlights
Our For Every Kind campaign, launched in 2024, really helped change the picture for animals in 2025. Over 167,000 more people joined us, giving their time, money and voices to make animals’ lives better. With a new purpose – to inspire everyone to create a better world for every animal – our work with partners and the public meant that:
- we reached 650 more animals a week who were suffering cruelty or neglect
- 2.3 million more farmed animals lived better lives than in 2024
- we helped secure a UK Government commitment to accelerate its phase-out of the use of animals in science
- more than 3.7 million people used our web advice to find out how to help animals in need themselves
- new welfare-friendly laws included the Renters’ Reform Bill (making it easier to keep pets in rented homes) and the Puppy Imports Bill (banning imports of animals reared in harmful conditions)
- we brought 585 animal abusers to justice
- we helped keep pets in loving homes, providing 600,000+ free pet meals through our pet food banks
- more than 21,000 pets in need got loving new homes.
