About the event

Walk To Remember is a flexible fundraising event where individuals, families and communities walk in Memory of a beloved pet on National Pet Memorial Day - Sunday 13th September 2026.

There’s no start line, finish line or pressure to complete a challenge. Instead, choose a walk that feels meaningful to you. It could be a favourite park, a daily dog walking route, or a place that holds special memories – like near their adoption centre or somewhere you found solace after they passed.

We suggest walking five miles and raising £100 In Memory of your pet, helping us continue our vital work supporting pets in need.

This is an opportunity to walk with those who loved your pet too, coming together to celebrate them and the love you all shared.

The funds you raise could answer a call to our cruelty line, feed a dog in one of our centres, or help a kitten find its new home. Every penny you raise makes a difference in giving animals the love and care they deserve.

"A really special day for myself and my family, sharing stories and remembering our boy Fred - whilst raising money for a great charity!" - Holly Payne, 2025 Walk to Remember participant

Walk to Remember: a community of support

In 2025, hundreds of people came together through Walk to Remember to honour their beloved pets, share memories and pet grief stories and raise more than £39,000 for animals in need. Together, they created a powerful reminder that no one should have to face pet grief alone.

How it works

  1. Sign up – register for Walk to Remember and we’ll send you a welcome pack with everything you need to get started.
  2. Plan your walk – choose a route that feels meaningful to you and your pet, perhaps a favourite park, or woodland path.

We suggest walking five miles, but you can walk whatever distance feels right for you.

  3. Invite your loved ones to walk with you – this is a great opportunity to come together and share your favourite memories of your pet.
  4. Fundraise In Memory – your fundraising page will be set up with a suggested goal of £100. Share it with friends and family so they can support your walk and celebrate your pet’s life.
  5. Walk and remember – on National Pet Memorial Day, take your walk In Memory of your pet, wherever and however feels right for you.
