George & Willow:
Your rescue update

Your support means we can be there for animals like George and Willow when they need us most. Thanks to you, this pair spent months in our care at RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre and have now found their forever home.

Room to roam and explore

George and Willow had indoor and outdoor spaces with room to stretch, forage and be bunnies.

Hay: a rabbit essential

Rabbits need hay for digestion and to keep their ever-growing teeth in check.

How your gift helped this pair

George and Willow came to us after concerns were raised for their welfare. Because you joined the rescue, our team at Bryn-y-Maen could take them in straight away – giving them the love, care and safety they deserved.

Our vet gave them a thorough check on arrival. George’s teeth were slightly longer than ideal, but with the right diet and care, that would be resolved in time. From day one, their bond was plain to see. They were often spotted grooming each other, nose to nose – a clear sign this pair couldn’t be separated. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to keep them together.

We adored seeing George and Willow’s relationship and watching them groom each other.

Learning to trust again

Two very different personalities

George loved to greet the team, especially when leafy kale was on offer! Willow was shyer, watching from a safe distance with George close by. As handling was stressful for her, your support meant we could take the time to let her set the pace – keeping contact to a minimum and allowing her to come to us.

Room to build confidence

We gave them an enclosure where they had more space to explore freely and retreat whenever they needed to. Slowly, Willow felt comfortable enough to approach us and take treats from our hands. That transformation only happened because of you.

After seven months with us, George and Willow finally found a loving home. Thank you for joining the rescue.

Did you know

Rabbits need a lot more hay than you might think – 85 percent of their diet should be hay and fresh grass!
