You asked:

Caring for amphibians and reptiles as non-domestic pets

Answer:

Before you get an amphibian or reptile as a pet, find out everything you need to know about looking after the species you're interested in.  You must prepare a suitable captive environment, find out where you can obtain the food it will need and whether it should be kept alone or with others.  Get a vet who is knowledgeable about treating that type of animal and find out how long it is likely to live, so that you are aware of the long-term commitment.  There are quite a lot of things to think about!  Our non-domestic pet care section will give you some starting information on certain types of amphibians and reptiles.
