Lockwood Centre For Horses & Donkeys

About us

Support Lockwood Centre for Horses and Donkeys - donate online today © RSPCA

Lockwood Centre for Horses and Donkeys provides a peaceful home and rehabilitation centre for around 20 donkeys on a 35-acre site.

It was established by John and Kay Lockwood and is one of the UK’s oldest donkey centres moving to its current site in the mid 1960s. The RSPCA has run the centre since 2006 and it is now a specialist equine centre, providing a sanctuary for donkeys and rescuing and rehoming horses and ponies that have been badly treated.

It costs £800 a day to run the centre.

A great way you can help us is to adopt a donkey or give an online donation now.

If you can spare some time to help us at the centre when we are open, please get in touch - see our contact details on the right.

Open days

We open our doors to the public on Wednesday's between 11.30am and 4pm. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome! We also hold regular events - check out our Facebook page for events updates.
