Facts and figures
Every year Harmsworth Memorial Animal Hospital treats a large number of owned animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters.
A large number of needy animals are also admitted to the hospital. Many of these animals are brought to the hospital by members of the public, as well as RSPCA inspectors and animal welfare officers.
Annually around 17,500 outpatient appointments are made at hospital clinics, and 5,600 animals are admitted into the hospital for operations or nursing.
Funding Harmsworth Memorial Animal Hospital
RSPCA animal hospitals provide a low-cost veterinary service, and customer payments for treatment do not cover the full costs involved.
The RSPCA receives no government funding and we depend entirely on the generosity of our supporters to continue with our work protecting and treating animals, including the running of our animal hospitals.
Harmsworth Memorial Animal Hospital is very grateful for donations from individuals or groups, to help it to continue to provide animal welfare services in the local area.
Donations can be handed in at the hospital itself, or cheques can be made payable to the RSPCA Harmsworth Memorial Animal Hospital and posted to Ms Claire Hague at the hospital (See contact details above on the right for hospital address).
Thank you.
