Blackberry Farm Animal Centre

About us

Our RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre occupies a 10-acre site overlooking the rural villages of Waddesdon and Quainton in Buckinghamshire. We are just two minutes from the A41 between Aylesbury and Bicester.

What we do

Here at Blackberry Farm most of the animals have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. When they come to us they are often nervous of strangers. We spend weeks, sometimes months, looking after them and preparing them for a new life and a second chance.

We look after dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, farm animals and numerous varieties of small domestic animals - at any one time we could be caring for over 200 animals.

The centre's facilities

The centre has 20 rehoming kennels and 34 cat rehoming pens.
These are areas that are open to the public so potential adopters can get to know the animals.

The centre also has an intake area and kennels for case animals which sadly stay with us for long period of time. Dogs in our care can unleash their energy on the exercise field or practice their agility skills in the training barn.

We also care for small farm animals and have two stables and a field shelter.

Rehabilitation, training and education

At Blackberry Farm we hold dog training classes in our purpose built training facility. We run Basic, Intermediate and Advanced courses.

Staff at the centre also to aim to challenge the negative perception people have of Staffordshire bull terriers by founding the RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre's club for Staffordshire bull terrier owners and people interested in the breed.

The club is run by staff and volunteers and it sets out to prove to people that Staffy and Staffy-crosses can be the loving and faithful family pets that everyone yearns for.

The Staffordshire bull terrier Club has grown from just two registered members when it was formed in October 2010 to more than 50 members today! Activities to date have included fun agility and even heelwork to music.
