Birmingham Animal Centre
About us
The new RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre & Hospital at Newbrook Farm is a centre of excellence for animal welfare and our first ever state of the art flagship site.
The centre is based in Frankley, Birmingham and is a short distance from Junction 3 of the M5. The new 72-acre site has been specifically chosen as the perfect location to help animals through rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation.
The frontline of animal welfare
Newbrook Farm incorporates all of our frontline activities under one roof including Inspectorate, animal home and animal hospital.
The new site has cattery space for 160 cats, kennels for 60 dogs, and a larger space for small animals, including rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and birds.
As well as a well-equipped animal hospital, an isolation block for those animals requiring specialist nursing. It also includes an education and training centre, along with more outside space for staff and volunteers to exercise and rehabilitate the animals in our care. Giving them the best possible chance of a new start and a new life.
Helping more animals than ever before
The new development, replaced the Barnes Hill site in Weoley Castle where the charity had operated from since 1962. This new facility will greatly enhance our ability to prevent animal cruelty and care for those suffering from neglect.
Last year, 6,000 animals were rescued, 41,000 were treated through the hospital and 1,257 were rehomed by the charity in the West Midlands alone. The increased space and improved facilities will enable us to care for, rehabilitate and rehome more animals than ever before.
