Our patrons and vice-presidents

Royal patron – Her Majesty the Queen

In 1840 we received royal approval from Queen Victoria and we are proud that our royal patronage continues to this day, with Her Majesty the Queen recognising the work we do for animal welfare.

Vice-patron

The Archbishop of Canterbury is our vice-patron. Dr Rowan Williams is well known to be opposed to the deliberate infliction of pain on any living creature and we are grateful for his support.

Vice-presidents

The RSPCA’s vice-presidents are appointed initially for a three-year period and are chosen because of their commitment to animal welfare, to the aims of the RSPCA and for their ability to use their influence for the benefit of animals.
