Tigger

American bulldog Tigger originally came into our care last year due to welfare concerns. He had untreated wounds on his head and legs.

Two-year-old Tigger was taken to our Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield, Essex to recover from the cruelty he had suffered.

Staff at the centre soon discovered that, just like the fictional character in Winnie the Pooh, young Tigger loved to bounce!

Rehoming a bull breed

Once Tigger had recovered from his injuries, and was fully rehabilitated, he was able to start looking for a new home.

However Tigger kept being overlooked.

Sadly, potential adopters found it difficult to see past Tigger’s size, breed and lively nature. They just couldn’t see the sweet, playful boy that staff at the centre had come to know and love.

Special appeal for a special home

To help young Tigger find a permanent, loving home we featured him on our special appeals pages.

We were hopeful that eventually the right owner would come along and give bouncy Tigger the home he so deserved.

Thankfully, after eight long months in our care, Tigger has finally found the perfect home.

Understanding a dog's needs

Tigger's new owners, who have experience of owning larger dogs, understand that he's still a young boy and essentially just needs training to help him overcome his big puppy ways.

And their reward? A lifelong fun and loyal companion who is actually very sweet, gentle and loving.
