Max

Six-year-old Patterdale terrier Max had a terrible start to his life. He was cruelly beaten and suffered from a severe infection in both ears, which was left untreated.

He was rescued by our inspectors and brought into our care in September 2010. After veterinary treatment the infection cleared but he was left with dense scarring.

As you can see from Max’s rehoming appeal video below the cruelty he suffered and the scarring didn’t affect his personality. He still loves to show off with his toys and play catch.

Max’s stay in foster care

Patterdale terrier Max © RSPCA

During his stay with us Max was in the care of our Macclesfield, South East Cheshire and Buxton Branch. Although he was fostered in Bollington as the branch it self does not have any boarding facilities.

Whilst in foster care clever Max, who can open doors, managed to escape his foster home and was found hours later badly injured in a neighbours garden.

It's unknown what happened to Max, but he had to have a pin inserted into his hip because it kept dislocating. This has since been removed and he now has full use of his leg again.

Max has now been adopted!

Endearing Max, who is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped, has now found a secure home.

Finally he can enjoy having lots of cuddles with understanding and patient new owners, who can make sure he doesn’t get into any more trouble!

Thank you

It’s because of the generous support of people like you that we were able to rescue Max, treat his injuries, and find him a new home.
