Horses and ponies success stories

Dedicated specialist staff at our equine centres work extremely hard to rehabilitate neglected and abused horses and ponies to give the animals the best chance possible of a fresh new start at life.

When they're ready, we ensure each horse is perfectly matched with the right owner so that they become a rehoming success.

Making a difference to an animal's life is extremely rewarding for us, and in this section we'd like to share just some of our horses and ponies rehoming success stories.

It took over a year to rehabilitate Horlicks and as soon as new owner Liz set eyes on him, she was completely smitten.

  • Yard supervisor Charlotte Britton with horse Reg at Lockwood Centre for Horses and Donkeys © RSPCA Reg

Bay horse Reg came into our care at a very young age after he was left out in the snow, with no access to water.

Willow didn't have the best start in life but her future looks much brighter now.
