How can you help?

We believe that UK and EU laws must be improved and properly enforced to ensure that live transportation is kept to a minimum and higher welfare standards are used wherever journeys are unavoidable.

Put pen to paper...

...If you, like the RSPCA, are concerned about the live transportation of animals, please write to your local MP and to:

The Rt. Hon. Caroline Spelman MP
Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs
Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs
Nobel House
17 Smith Square
LONDON SW1P 3JR.

Please write concisely in your own words, and mention some of the key animal welfare issues during live transport and some of the ways in which improvements could be made.

You can also help by writing to food retailers to ask about their policies regarding live animal transport.

If you are concerned about farm animal welfare, you might be interested to learn about the welfare of other types of farm animals.
