Felledge Animal Centre
About us
Felledge Animal Centre is located south of Newcastle Upon Tyne, off the A167 at Chester le Street in beautiful County Durham.
The site is home to hundreds of animals each year which we rescue from cruelty, abandonment and neglect.
Staff provide specialist treatment and rehabilitation to dogs, cats and horses who have suffered in order to give them a happy second chance in life. They are supported by volunteers, who work to meet the animal’s physical and mental needs until they are ready to be adopted.
Please help support Felledge Animal Centre
It costs a lot to care for and rehabilitate animals which come to our centre. Can you help fund our vital work?
Please donate online.
We can't do it without you!
Taking care of cats, dogs and equines
The centre includes a cattery, a state of the art kennels built in 2009 and one of the three RSPCA equine centres in England and Wales.
The cattery can house over 60 cats at any time. The dogs are housed in 36 kennels, which cater specifically for cruelty case dogs that can be in our care for over a year.
The equine centre caters for up to 35 horses, many of which are broken in to ride. Read more about a typical day on the yard from our groom, Clare.
Our equine centre is not open to the public.
About us
Felledge animal centre is certainly one of the busiest animal establishments in the country! We rely on the kind support of our volunteers who work both directly with the animals in our care and raise vital funds so that we can continue our work. Find out more about how you can help us.
