RSPCA International's work overseas is made possible by the generosity of our supporters and donors. Our work is funded independently of the main Society, so to help us achieve even more around the world, please make a donation to RSPCA International.

100 per cent of the overseas fund is used directly to improve international animal welfare.

  • £7.50 a year will vaccinnate 300 chickens against Newcastle disease, protecting the welfare of a whole flock in an African village and the livelihoods of the villagers.
  • £300 will train a shelter worker or dog handler.
  • Every £1 will make a difference to people and animals struggling in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

I am sure that you will be pleased to learn the sub-district municipality Mei Hia has won the first prize in the national Sanofi Pasteur Rabies awards, for the best rabies prevention projects, in Thailand.

The second prize was won by the Or Bor Tor Som Tia. Both local government organizations attended the RSPCA seminar on humane dog handling, here in Chiang Mai.Both local governments are now solidly on the path to improve animal welfare.

They are planning to pass bye-laws and ordinances, this year, to improve the situation of companion animals, strays and farm animals in their areas. Mei Hia is also going to introduce a companion animal health insurance scheme to help and encourage owners to give better and more frequent medical care to their pets.

This is a great example of how the RSPCA can inspire, teach and encourage local governments to better the lives of animals in their areas. (Lanna Dog Rescue, Thailand)

The future of our work depends on you.
