Our latest success stories

Grey seal pups rescued, rehabilitated and returned to the wild

In early spring 2025, five grey seal pups – Bert, Ernie, Yolanda, Fozzie, and Floyd Pepper, named after several of The Muppets characters – came to us as orphans; underweight and in poor health. After months of rehabilitation (and Kermitted care) at our Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre, these now healthy grey seal pups have made their way back home.

Live transport and export of farmed animals banned in UK

In 2024, after years of campaigning, the Government banned the live export of animals in the UK for fattening and slaughtering, instead prioritising animal transport welfare.

Burnt and abandoned: eight ponies find new life

Eight ponies were found grazing on toxic land, with severe burns. After concerns were reported to us, we rescued and rehabilitated the ponies, leading to a successful prosecution of their owner following their poor care and mistreatment. They have since been lovingly rehomed.

How we define success

  • We change lives - by rescuing, rehabilitating, rehoming and releasing animals
  • We change minds - through expert education, fundraising and volunteering
  • We change laws and industries - by lobbying Government and business on animal welfare
