Roy was struck in a horrific attack

Alesha Dixon spoke of her horror after seeing the attack which was caught on camera. She later met Roy who is now in a loving new home after he was rescued by the RSPCA.

Alesha and Roy’s reunion

Alesha had an emotional reunion with Roy after we showed her the distressing footage that had led to our investigation and enabled Roy to be rescued from violence. She was visibly moved by the footage that showed Roy's previous owner slapping him and pushing him into the floor. Alesha caught up with Roy at our Birmingham Animal Centre where she enjoyed cuddles with the Staffy-cross and met his two new owners who told her how he is now living his best life. Roy's owners run a dog walking business by the coast, so Roy gets to enjoy the great outdoors and loves long walks and playing on the beach.

It was extremely difficult to watch Roy being treated so awfully, it really upset me. I am so grateful the RSPCA rescued him.

This summer we need YOUR help

Roy was taken into the care of our Lancashire East Branch, but he was so scared he didn't want to move from the front doormat. Lots of love and care won him round and we later found his loving home.

This summer many other animals face awful abuse like Roy, but YOU can help us rescue and rehome them.

before

Poor Roy was terrified and scarred from his past.

after

He is loving life with his new family in a fantastic home.

Roy is enjoying his new life

After a life of fear and uncertainty, Roy is now in a loving home where he feels safe and loved, and is treated with kindness and respect by his doting new owners.

Alesha added: “It must be so difficult for those on the RSPCA frontline to witness these horrific incidents on defenceless animals like Roy on such a frequent basis. I am so grateful the RSPCA rescues victims of cruelty like Roy and their rehabilitation work gives animals another chance of a happy life while they also work hard to bring those responsible for such abuse to justice."

Your donation will help our rescuers save more abused animals like Roy and give them the happy home they deserve.

Make a difference

Every summer we see a spike in reports of cruelty cases* but your donation will help us rescue more pets like Roy.
