Bella was hit with a hammer

Poor Bella was beaten so badly her skull fractured. Thankfully, we were able to help – but this summer, there’ll be many more animals facing abuse.

Bella’s made such amazing progress

Bella remained kind natured despite the abuse she had faced. When we first met this sweet crossbreed, she had a huge lump on her head. She’d been taken to a vet by her owner, who’d bought her after learning she was being mistreated.

She was skinny, her nails were overgrown and she had six wounds to her head. The vets helped Bella and immediately put her on fluids and started feeding her small, regular meals. When we later x-rayed her at our Newbrook Farm Animal Centre, we found fractures in her skull. Our investigations confirmed a pattern of deliberate injuries.

I was so upset when I saw how injured Bella was. She’s a lovely dog, I’m glad we were able to save her.

We need your help this summer

Bella was given flea and worm treatment and a feeding plan – her brilliant new owner looked after her and brought her back for regular checkups. We were glad to see her weight quickly rise and the swollen areas eventually go down!

Unfortunately, this summer will likely see many more animals like Bella being abused. And although we’ll always try our best to save them, we can only do it with your support. Bella’s safe in a new home because someone stood up to cruelty. Will you do the same?

The life all animals deserve

Bella's now safe in her new home after we brought her previous owner to justice. Unfortunately, not every animal gets this happy ending. This summer, we’ll be working non-stop to fight cruelty and be there for every kind of animal. But we can only do it with your support. Please donate.
