Lola was in pain and distress

Lola was suffering from the worst case of mange that the vet had seen. Thanks to our supporters, we saved her in time, but other animals still need our help.

Lola is full of life

Today, nine-year-old Lola will jump at any excuse to play. But when we first got the call about a neglected dog, things were very different.

We found Lola living in a filthy home. The scabbing on her face was so bad, our rescuer said she didn’t look like a dog. Most of her fur was missing and she was dangerously thin. She kept her head lowered, and seemed very shut down.

She was in so much pain, we struggled to lift her into the van to take her to the nearest vets.

The vet said it was the worst case of sarcoptic mange they'd ever seen. Lola had been itchy and in pain for weeks.

Give back to animals

After eight days at the vets, we moved Lola to RSPCA Felledge Animal Centre. At first she was withdrawn, but her bright personality soon began to show.

We found Lola a loving home, but other animals are still suffering from neglect. With your support, we can reach them. Donate today to change a life.

Lola’s head and ears were entirely covered in thick scabs. She was itchy, in pain, and the light had left her eyes.

Now her skin has healed and Lola is such a playful, active girl. She loves her walks, toys, and being fussed over.

The care she deserves

Lola’s skin healed and she reached a healthy weight. It was time to find her a new home.

Lola was a bit cautious, but Alison wanted to adopt her. After two weeks of gentle reassurance and space, Alison noticed a big change.

“She suddenly wanted a fuss and started to enjoy her walks,” says Alison. “I took her to the beach, and she splashed in the water with other dogs who wanted to play."

“Since then, she’s brought so much joy into our lives.”

Animals give us so much – even dogs who’ve suffered like Lola. Please give back to neglected animals, so we can help give them the lives they deserve.
