Boris’s wounds were infected

Boris’ face was deeply wounded and he’d been left to suffer. Our supporters helped us reach him in time. But animals are still being neglected. Will you help them?

Boris is a real character

From his calm demeanour to his thick, healthy fur – Boris is now the picture of a happy, healthy cat. But he wasn’t always well cared for. We first met Boris when someone called us about an injured cat. Witnesses told us he’d been attacked by a dog. Eventually we found Boris in a local garden.

He had deep wounds on his face. One eye injury was weeping badly, and his nose was scratched and swollen. His fur was dirty and our rescuer spotted signs of fleas. We rushed Boris to a local vet. His wounds were infected. Boris was in a lot of pain and had been left to suffer for some time.

It was awful knowing that Boris was suffering, but seeing him now is heartwarming.

Help neglected cats

The vet gave Boris antibiotics, pain relief and flea treatment. Later, we moved him to RSPCA Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Branch.

Eventually, we were able to find Boris a caring home, because someone chose to contact us and stand up to neglect. But animals are still suffering. Will you help them this winter?

Boris’ injuries healed and now he’s such a chilled cat. He loves watching TV or curling up in a patch of long grass to snooze.

The life he deserves

Once Boris's wounds had healed, Annette and Michael adopted him. He was nervous at first, but gradually grew in confidence.

Today, Boris loves curling up in a special patch of long grass in the garden. And he rests his head on Annette’s lap as he watches TV.

“He especially likes the news and Pointless, he always perks up when that’s on!” says Annette.

Today, this characterful cat is getting the care he deserves. But animals are still being neglected. We’re working tirelessly to reach them, but we can’t do it alone. By giving back this winter, you’ll be giving animals like Boris a second chance.
