Pay equity
Our organisation is committed to fair and equitable pay for all employees, and will continue to work towards eliminating the gender pay gap.
Despite mechanisms in place to harmonise pay scales and career progression arrangements, some elements of our gender pay gap have a historical/national context which will take a period of time to resolve. This partly explains why males continue to be paid more than females. On the other hand, our organisation is moving in the right direction, as it shows a reduction in the mean gender pay gap for hourly pay.
A good news story
An external equal pay audit of our employees, concluded that we demonstrate a clear commitment to pay transparency, which could be seen through our use of an open and transparent job evaluation scheme. In total we satisfactorily rectified all (84) separate gender pay comparisons identified by the external company (constituting a variety of men and women within each review group, and a pay gap of five percent or greater).
