Nelson was badly beaten and left to suffer

Nelson was frozen in fear when we rescued him. “He was clearly terrified” says RSPCA Inspector Shahnaz. “I just wanted to get him out of that situation and to safety.”

The open wounds on his head and legs were obvious to see. We got to him just in time and rushed him to our animal hospital. When our vets looked at the X-rays, they saw two skull fractures and older healed broken bones that were left untreated for weeks. We looked after Nelson for several months. He needed medication to manage his pain and anxiety, but now he’s living with a loving family who provides the support he needs.

Please help rescue more animals like Nelson, with a monthly gift of £3.

Every 14 minutes* we get an animal beating report

Animals offer unconditional love and bring joy to our lives. But during the summer months, deliberate cruelty peaks. Dogs like Nelson, found cowering in fear and covered in scars, are depending on us right now for survival this summer. We are one of the only charities that rescues animals from the worst cases of cruelty. But we can’t do it without support from people like you.

Will you donate £3 a month and help turn a season of cruelty into one of love and kindness, for animals in desperate need?

Your gift will save lives

This summer, animals are facing deliberate cruelty. Each year, we receive nearly one million calls to our cruelty and advice line**. We’re working tirelessly to reach animals in time. But keeping our rescuers on the road and providing life-saving care costs money. We rely on your generosity to make this possible.

Together, we can turn this season of cruelty into one of love for animals like Nelson, giving them the lives they deserve. Please donate today to turn your love for animals into a life-saving rescue.
