Jerry is very friendly and playful, he loves squeaky toys and cuddles, he is a real big and loving character.
Jerry was found as a stray with painful problems with both his eyes. We do not know his age but he is certainly full of energy and we think he's probably about 6-8 years old.
Sadly one of Jerry’s eyes had to be removed. The other needed entropion surgery as the eyelashes were pointing in and causing irritation. He has been left with a bit of cloudiness on the lens but he is doing well with no current treatment needed. He may have blurry eyesight but deals with it very well. Unfortunately he cannot wear glasses!
He has coped very well with these changes. His new owner will need to continue to monitor his eye closely and take good care of it, as it's the only one he has left!
Jerry had crystals in his urine so we tried a urinary diet which worked. The vet has suggested he can stay on the urinary diet but his new owners could consider trying to stop this after 6 months to a year.
He is looking for a calm home but where he will get lots of attention, he likes to follow his foster mum around to see what she is up to. He was initially extremely needy for affection and food but has calmed down as he has settled in. He still gets very vocal when it's dinner time and will try to steal food if it's left unattended. He's now a lot happier spending time on his own as well as on laps, though he still loves getting strokes and will make a lovely companion.
Jerry will need access to his own garden, as his missing eye makes him more vulnerable it will need to be fairly quiet and secure. Why I'm special
Despite a rough start as a stray with painful eye issues—losing one eye and undergoing surgery on the other—he’s shown incredible resilience and spirit. Jerry adores attention and makes a loving companion.

Adopt a pet
Adopting a rescue animal is a big commitment and needs careful consideration as it will change your life and your life will have to change to fit around your pet. Every animal is different which is why we carry out home visits.
If you would like to adopt a pet, please read our How to Adopt section and complete an application form for cats & kittens | Guinea Pigs application form | Rabbit application form
Please note our standard adoption fee is £120 per cat, £35 per female guinea pig, £50 per male guinea pig and £55 per rabbit. This helps us with neutering, microchipping and initial vaccinations where appropriate (prices at other branches and animal centres may vary)
If you can't find the pet you're looking for now, check back regulary to see if your perfect match has become available or visit Find a pet to view other animals in the RSPCA's care across England and Wales.
We recommend that people take out Pet Insurance for their furry family member.
Please read our Terms and Conditions of Adoption prior to adopting an RSPCA rescue animal
FOSTERING: If you're not in a position to adopt right now but have the time, space and patience to foster a cat instead. Please complete our foster application form.
Please note we do not rehome kittens to indoor homes, homes with very young children or to the elderly.
If you're renting you will need landlords written permission.
Don't have a garden? We occasionally have indoor cats for rehoming. Indoor homes are also perfect for fostering.
Your pet will need: Food, exercise, vaccinations, a comfortable place to live, sleep & play, grooming, veterinary attention when they are sick. Also consider that boarding costs will need to be paid if you go away on holiday or for work reasons.
Please bear in mind that many animals come into the care of the RSPCA because they have been ill treated or neglected. So they may need extra patience and understanding but will reward you with so much in return.
