If you are interested in adopting Missy please fill in our online application form here.

Missy is a sweet cat with a lot of character, affectionately nicknamed Missy La La by her foster carer. The original Miss LaLa was the aerial acrobat in 1870s Paris who inspired the painter Edgar Degas. Missy LaLa is named after her because she likes to show off her spine-bending moves (she just doesn’t leave the ground!).

As an artiste, Missy is a bit high-strung and would probably not like sharing her stage with any other cat. She has a fine appreciation of a warm lap and luxuriates in chin rubs and throat strokes, but when she’s had enough, any further attention may get you a reprimand, she might nip your wrist if over stimulated. However she purrs easily, doesn't mind being picked up and seems happy to allow stroking of her luxurious belly fur without any bunny kicks!

Missy is likely to be shy at first and will want to settle in somewhere she can hide but still keep an eye on everything before being introduced to the whole home. She has never been outside but is seeking a home with her own garden to enjoy, we can see how interested she is by the great outdoors!

Missy had a difficult time in her previous home which resulted in some behaviour issues we'd be happy to explain to any potential adopter, she was very stressed when she first came into our care. She does shows a wild side with her toys when she can get vocal and skittish but she has been a lovely and well behaved guest in her foster home. She will need a quiet, predictable environment to continue to flourish; adult only (or sensible, older children) and no other pets.

My personality

  • I'd prefer to be the only cat in a home
  • I need to be able to go outside and explore
  • I'd prefer an adult only household
  • I'm full of energy and love to play
  • I would prefer not to live with a dog

Adopt a pet

Adopting a rescue animal is a big commitment and needs careful consideration as it will change your life and your life will have to change to fit around your pet. Every animal is different which is why we carry out home visits.

If you would like to adopt a pet, please read our How to Adopt section and complete an application form for cats & kittensGuinea Pigs application form | Rabbit application form

Please note our standard adoption fee is £120 per cat, £35 per female guinea pig, £50 per male guinea pig and £55 per rabbit. This helps us with neutering, microchipping and initial vaccinations where appropriate (prices at other branches and animal centres may vary)

If you can't find the pet you're looking for now, check back regulary to see if your perfect match has become available or visit  Find a pet  to view other animals in the RSPCA's care across England and Wales.

We recommend that people take out Pet Insurance for their furry family member.

Please read our Terms and Conditions of Adoption prior to adopting an RSPCA rescue animal

FOSTERING: If you're not in a position to adopt right now but have the time, space and patience to foster a cat instead. Please complete our foster application form.

Please note we do not rehome kittens to indoor homes, homes with very young children or to the elderly.

If you're renting you will need landlords written permission.

Don't have a garden? We occasionally have indoor cats for rehoming. Indoor homes are also perfect for fostering.

Your pet will need: Food, exercise, vaccinations, a comfortable place to live, sleep & play, grooming, veterinary attention when they are sick. Also consider that boarding costs will need to be paid if you go away on holiday or for work reasons.

Please bear in mind that many animals come into the care of the RSPCA because they have been ill treated or neglected. So they may need extra patience and understanding but will reward you with so much in return.
