Adopt a pet

Adopting a rescue animal is a big commitment and needs careful consideration as it will change your life and your life will have to change to fit around your pet. Every animal is different which is why we carry out home visits.

If you would like to adopt a pet, please read our How to Adopt section and complete an application form for cats & kittensGuinea Pigs application form | Rabbit application form

Please note our standard adoption fee is £120 per cat, £35 per female guinea pig, £50 per male guinea pig and £55 per rabbit. This helps us with neutering, microchipping and initial vaccinations where appropriate (prices at other branches and animal centres may vary)

If you can't find the pet you're looking for now, check back regulary to see if your perfect match has become available or visit  Find a pet  to view other animals in the RSPCA's care across England and Wales.

We recommend that people take out Pet Insurance for their furry family member.

Please read our Terms and Conditions of Adoption prior to adopting an RSPCA rescue animal

FOSTERING: If you're not in a position to adopt right now but have the time, space and patience to foster a cat instead. Please complete our foster application form.

Please note we do not rehome kittens to indoor homes, homes with very young children or to the elderly.

If you're renting you will need landlords written permission.

Don't have a garden? We occasionally have indoor cats for rehoming. Indoor homes are also perfect for fostering.

Your pet will need: Food, exercise, vaccinations, a comfortable place to live, sleep & play, grooming, veterinary attention when they are sick. Also consider that boarding costs will need to be paid if you go away on holiday or for work reasons.

Please bear in mind that many animals come into the care of the RSPCA because they have been ill treated or neglected. So they may need extra patience and understanding but will reward you with so much in return.
