Rehome or Adopt a Pet a Rescued Pet

Temporary changes to our adoption process due to Covid19

Step 1 - Find each other online. Please note that following strict rehoming guidelines potential adopters must live within one hour's drive of the location of the animal being adopted.  Given our offshore location and being respectful of government advice on essential travel guidelines we may give priority to adopters located on the Isle of Wight only at this time.

Step 2 - Complete an application form (download one at the bottom of the page) and email this to the rehoming centre that is caring for the animal.

Step 3 - You will receive an email or phone call from the rehoming centre and the application process will be completed via phone and email. You will be asked to provide photos or video of your home and a secure, private garden/yard (for a dog).

Step 4 - The animal will be brought safely to your home by experienced RSPCA staff or volunteers.

Step 5 - You will receive ongoing support from the rehoming centre following adoption and a post adoption home visit will be carried out when current movement and other restrictions have been lifted.

The health and safety of our staff and volunteers is of utmost importance to us.  Unfortunately we can't adopt animals to homes where a member of the household is showing symptoms of or has a confirmed case of Covid-19. Or has been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable or is shielding.
