Isle of Wight Branch

How we help animals on the island

If you have any concerns about animal welfare or wish to report an animal you believe to be in immediate distress please call the national RSPCA call centre; 0300 1234 999.

As an independently registered animal welfare charity we are licensed by the RSPCA as an animal rehoming centre and wildlife rehabilitation centre, we do not provide an emergency animal ambulance service nor attend properties of animals conidered in distress, the national RSPCA provides this critical service.

Please call 0300 1234 999 7AM to 10PM should you wish to report an act of cruelty or neglect.

What we do

RSPCA Isle of Wight branch provides support for our Island’s most vulnerable animals which arrive at our animal centre in Godshill.

Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers provides daily care and welfare for domestic, farm and wild animals.  We re-unite lost animals with their concerned owners and find new, loving homes for every healthy adoptable animal.  We also rehabilitate and release those wild animals which we are confident will survive in the wild.

Our branch is an independently registered Island-based charity and we rely solely on the generosity of our local community to deliver our critical animal care.  We support the RSPCA Inspectorate team to support those animals most in need.

Due to covid restrictions our branch is currently open to the public by appointment only however our reception team is available 7 days a week between 10am and 4pm to answer your calls. As our welfare work never stops there may be times when you may have to leave a voicemail, we will return your call at our earliest oppotunity.

You can also reach us by email; reception@rspca-isleofwight.org.uk Please note that we may not be able to respond to your email same day.

Our branch also has four charity shops across the Island and these generate crucial funds which enable us to carry out our animal welfare work.

These shops are based in:

  • Newport (6-8 Carrisbrooke Road, Newport PO30 1BL);
  • Ventnor (33-35 High Street, Ventnor PO38 1RZ);
  • Sandown (43-45 High Street, Sandown PO36 8DF);
