Sonny is a lovely boy who is looking for a female companion. Sonny is very shy and nervous - he will take some work to get used to you. Patience is key with this lovely boy. Food is definitely the key to this sweet boy's heart and will come up to you for a snack and a nose rub, especially if you are offering a pea flake or two.
He is very energetic and likes to run around. This boy needs to have some tubes in his home as these seem to be his favourite place to hide when he’s scared.
Sonny also enjoys piles of hay and loves to run in and out of them.
He has never lived with another pig as he didn’t get on with the boys he came in to our care with. Although he happily watches them from an adjacent cage. Overall he is a gentle boy who needs some time and love.
Sonny is neutered and healthy.
An adoption donation is requested and we prefer to rehome animals within an hour's drive, for their welfare.
In terms of their living space:
The hutch needs to be a minimum of 153cm x 62cm, bigger is always better, and a large run for grass time.A secure space that is large enough for them to exercise and high enough to stand up fully on their back legs.
Indoor accommodation that is well-ventilated, dry and away from direct heat sources (such as radiators or sunny windows) and draughts. Room temperatures of 17-20°C are ideal. Some areas of centrally heated houses may get too hot, so be careful where you put their hutch.
Outdoor accommodation - if you are keeping your guinea pigs outside, their hutch should be sheltered from direct sun and direct wind. In temperatures below 15°C, you should move them indoors. They will also need sufficient bedding throughout the whole enclosure to keep them warm.
