How we help local animals

We are able to offer some financial assistance to help local animals in need. This is intended for owners who have experienced unexpected veterinary costs for their pet and are having difficulty with payment, and to support with the costs of neutering and microchipping pets. Due to the high level of demand for this service, the financial contribution is restricted to certain treatments and fixed amounts. It does not include routine treatments such as vaccinations and other preventative treatment. Proof of means-tested benefits is required before any financial assistance is granted, which will be in the form of a voucher, redeemable at the veterinary practice where treatment is to be provided. To enquire about this service please call 0300 123 8902 (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday).

We promote neutering and are involved in the £5 cat neutering & microchipping scheme offered in partnership between RSPCA Cymru and Cats Protection in Wales.  You can see a map, showing which vets are enrolled in the scheme by visiting https://www.rspca.org.uk/-/wales - contact the vet you would like to use directly, and explain that you would like to use the RSPCA Cymru & Cats Protection Neutering & Microchipping scheme.

Alternatively, if you are having difficulties using the map to find your nearest vet, or wish to discuss the criteria for eligibility, please call 03000 12 12 12 (option 2: 9.30am-1pm, Monday-Friday).

Under the Wales Cat Neutering & Microchipping campaign you can get your pet cat neutered & microchipped for just £5 if you are:

  • Living in Wales AND
  • A cat owner over 18 years of age AND
  • In receipt of means-tested benefit OR
