How we help local animals
The Darlington and District Branch is committed to improving the welfare of animals in the local area. We aim to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and having a compassionate attitude to all animals. We want to improve and make a difference to the lives of local animals.
We achieve this through a programme of animal welfare and educational initiatives, such as microchipping events and neutering campaigns to reduce the number of stray, abandoned and unwanted animals in the area, educational roadshows on animal care and free health checks.
We are able to assist members of the public on means-tested benefits with a contribution towards veterinary consultations, to ensure animals are seen by a vet as swiftly as possible. We also help neglected and abused animals from our area by providing financial support whilst they are cared for in RSPCA Animal Rehoming Centres.
