Meet Bagel the Beagle
Bagel is a sweet and affectionate young dog who came into our care after being abandoned.
Bagel is a classic Beagle; curious, energetic and guided by his nose. He loves to explore and in time, will be a fantastic companion for an active family who enjoy spending time outdoors. However, he will need patient owners who can help him adjust to life in a home environment, both inside the house and out on walks, as he currently finds new experiences overwhelming.
What Bagel Needs:
A Rural Home: Bagel will do best in a quiet countryside setting where he can enjoy peaceful surroundings and have access to secure outdoor space.

Another Dog for Company: He would benefit greatly from living with a friendly, confident dog who can help him settle and provide companionship. But he cannot live with a cat.

Someone Home Most of the Time: Bagel will struggle with being left on his own, especially early on. He needs a home where someone is around throughout the day and willing to gradually build up the time he spends alone.

On-Lead in Public: Bagel has a strong scent drive, so he must be kept on a lead during walks in public. He will enjoy off-lead time in a secure, enclosed area where he can safely explore.

Support and Routine: Bagel will need ongoing support with house training, confidence-building and developing a consistent routine. New experiences, both indoors and outside, may be overwhelming for him at first.

Bagel would be best suited to a home with at least two adults due to his separation related behaviours and so his training and care can be shared.

He could live with older teenagers who understand his needs and can give him the time and space to adjust at his own pace.
