Adopt an RSPCA animal

Above you can find out about the animals in our care who are looking for their forever home.  If you can't find the pet you're looking for now, check back regularly to see if your perfect match has become available. Or visit Find a pet to view other animals in the RSPCA's care across England and Wales who are looking for a new home.

Cats

The cats and kittens that are available for homing are housed in heated cat pens in the gardens of our fosterers’ homes. The cats that come in to our care are first checked by a vet, treated for fleas and worms, given their first vaccination and neutered. All cats must be given time to settle in to their new home, therefore patience will be required. Cats must be kept indoors with a litter tray for the first three to four weeks.

Adoption Fees:

Kittens (up to 10 months of age) £95.00

Adult cats £70.00

Golden Oldies (cats 12 years+) No adoption fee – Just a donation please

The adoption fee includes:

  • Full course vaccination against Flu + Enteritis + Leukemia
  • Neutering
  • Microchip & Flea & Worm Treatment
  • 6 weeks Free Pet Insurance

All prospective kitten owners will be subject to an RSPCA homecheck

Please contact the fosterer named on each animal's details, rather than contacting the clinic.

Dogs

Special homes for special animals - How to rehome a dog from us

Some of the dogs in our care have had a tough time, so it is very important that their next home is the right home and a home for life.  That is why we ask everyone who is thinking of rehoming a dog from us to fill in an application form before being contacted by one of our fosterers to discuss whether you would be a suitable new owner for the dog; we find this is the best way to find out more about you and help us to choose the right home for each dog.

We believe there is a home to suit every dog in our care - sometimes it just takes a little time to find the perfect home

Home Checks

We carry out a home check for all of our dogs and, in some cases, minor changes may be suggested that help ensure your home is as dog friendly as possible.  We will also call or visit afterwards to make sure that you and your new dog are adjusting well to your new life together.

Adoption Fees

Puppies and Dogs up to 12 months of age £195.00  -  Dogs over 1 year old £155.00

This includes:

  • 6 weeks Free Pet Insurance
  • Neutering
  • Full course Vaccination
  • Microchipping & Flea and Worm Treatment

How to adopt a dog from us

If you feel you can offer one of our dogs the rewarding home they deserve please download an application form, print it out and fill it in.

Application Form

Once you have completed the application form, please scan and email it to us at rspcaadoption@gmail.com or post/deliver it to Lynda & Wendy - Dog Applications, RSPCA Stort Valley, 23 The Stow, Harlow, Essex, CM20 3AN

Due to the high volume of interest in our dogs we can only accept applications made using the RSPCA Application Form.  Once your form has been read you may be contacted by the dog’s fosterer

Please do not phone our clinic to discuss the dogs, our clinic is always busy and you may prevent an animal in need from getting help.

All prospective owners will be subject to an RSPCA home check

We take a week or so to collect all the forms and identify who we feel would be the best match and they are then invited to meet the dog.  If they reserve the dog then a home visit will be arranged. Otherwise, the next suitable home will be contacted.

The same procedure is used should the home visit not be successful and is repeated until a suitable home is found for the dog; it is only then that we will contact unsuccessful applicants and let them know that the dog has been reserved - until this happens we could still contact you to come and visit the dog.
