Volunteering and student placements

Volunteer Opportunities for 2025 and 2026

Wildlife/Office Volunteers

We recruit volunteers to support our wildlife and office teams in February, so please keep an eye out for adverts on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rspcastapeleygrange/  Alternatively, you can email the team at the end of the year to express your interest

Year-Long and Summer Placements
Stapeley offers year-long placements for anyone wishing to gain invaluable experience in wildlife rehabilitation. This includes students in their third year of university. Placements run from 1 September to 31 August the following year. Those on placements work four fixed days per week and receive a 26-day holiday allowance.  We also offer two summer placements each year, pro-rata holiday allowance.  Accommodation is available, but space is limited.

Maintenance and Gardening Volunteers
Our maintenance volunteers generally work Tuesday to Thursday, while our gardening team, who help maintain the RHS garden and the education garden/woodland, work on Fridays.

Fundraising Opportunities
We're always looking for enthusiastic individuals or groups to help support our fundraising events and activities throughout the year. Whether it’s helping at one of our big events, helping out on stalls, organising raffles, or running your own event in aid of Stapeley Grange, your support makes a big difference to the animals in our care.
