Harper's Special Appeal - UPDATE
Just a quick update on this appeal, we raised just under £1000 towards Harpers treatment which is amazing. However, best news of all, Harper went to her fur-ever home on Tuesday evening where she has settled in already. We will be keeping in touch with Harper's new family as she is still under consultation with the specialist vet but we are over the moon that Harper has now found a family who understand what a special cat she is.
Harper came to the RSPCA from an Inspector who had picked her up after she was knocked over by a car. Harper sustained a fractured pelvis and was put on cage rest. After monitoring Harper and her being able to go to the toilet she was moved to a private foster home to continue her cage rest and everything seemed to be going fine, Harper was eating and drinking with no problems.
However unfortunately for Harper things took a turn for a worse, Jackie her fosterer noticed she was not eating and had not been to the toilet so Harper was immediately rushed to the Vets where the news was not good. Harper’s fractured pelvis was squeezing the colon which was leading to her bowels backing up, this was very serious. The vets referred Harper to a specialist veterinary centre where an operation could be performed to resolve this issue.
After her follow up check the specialist vet advised that as long as there are no surprises Harper should make a full recovery and live a happy and normal life. Unfortunately the costs for Harper’s surgeries will cost approximately £2,500. This is a huge amount of money for our branch especially with the influx of kittens and cats we have had come into care over the last couple of months and as such we are hoping that we can raise the money with the help of our supporters and fellow animal lovers to help with these costs.
If you would like to support this appeal you can make a payment through PAYPAL or alternatively send a cheque payable to RSPCA Stafford, Wolverhampton & District Branch to PO Box 7190, Huntington, Cannock, WS12 9HB and help us to help Harper get back on her feet so that she can find her fur-ever home and live a long and happy life.
Please note any funds raised over and above the amount stated will go to fund more animals in need like Harper!
