The Animal Centre is currently closed to the general public, but limited rehoming is still taking place. Please see our main website for full details of how to adopt a cat or dog: https://www.rspcasouthport.org/adopting

Southport, Ormskirk & District Branch is a separately Registered Charity that is complely reliant upon donations, legacies and monies raised through its Charity Shop, together with the public’s generous support of our locally run fund raising events.

Its Animal Centre, located in New Cut Lane, on the Birkdale Halsall border, covers Southport, Ormskirk and the surrounding areas as far south as Maghull. The Centre takes in, cares for, supports and helps rehabilitate needy animals whilst new homes are found for them.

Although we do not take in stray dogs, as we do not have the Local Authority Licence to do this, all of our animals have been rescued and are rehomed fully vaccinated, flead, wormed, micro-chipped and neutered as appropriate to the animal.

We now have a private veterinary practice operating on site that we use for our animals, which is also open to the general public. There is not normally a charge for dealing with injured wildlife by the vet onsite, or indeed any other veterinary practice closer to you.

Incidents of cruelty or neglect should be reported to the National Cruelty line
