Newport Animal Centre

Becca the sky diving star

Here's our intrepid deputy manager, Becca, who took to the sky in August for a sponsored skydive to raise money for the animals at the centre.

She jumped out of a plane at 15,000 feet and dropped at the rate of the length of a rugby pitch each second.

Becca wanted to raise £500 to buy agility equipment to enrich the lives of the dogs we care for while they wait for their forever homes. The equipment would also be useful at our fundraising events.

Well we're happy to say that Becca raised more than her target and the total reached £859. So not only are we able to buy the agility equipment, but also a large hutch or shed to make into a play pen for our small animals, which is fantastic.

Thank you to Becca for her effort and bravery. And thank you too to everyone who supported her with a donation.
