Your local RSPCA
Middlesbrough South Tees & District Branch
RSPCA MIDDLESBROUGH, TEESSIDE & DISTRICT BRANCH (Registered charity number 232226)
Your local Branch of the RSPCA has been in existence for over 100 years covering an area from Thornaby to Staithes, the Yorkshire Dales and towns in between. Our priority is the welfare of animals in our area. To achieve this we help fund neutering and in cases where an animal is injured or in need of veterinary help we may be able to help with the costs including microchipping.
WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING TRUSTEES - PLEASE SEE OUR 'LATEST' TAB FOR FUTHER INFORMATION.
Please note that at the present time the phone lines to the branch have been paused. We hope to have them up and running again later in the year. Thanks for your understanding.
In the meantime rehoming continues
For all rehoming information & adoptions please see our project web page https://cathub.co.uk
If you need to report a sick or injured animal phone the national helpline 0300 1234 999. The staff then pass on the details to the Inspectors within our area. As this is the national number, it receives thousands of calls every day, cases are prioritised according to severity. There are only two Inspectors in our area so usually just one on duty at a time so there may be a delay in them attending your call. This is unavoidable so please be patient.
We do not have any facilities to house animals and we are not able to take in animals from members of the public.
It is now law that all dogs must be microchipped and there is a fine of up to £1,000 for any dogs found without one. It’s also a good idea that pets wear a collar and ID disc with owner’s details, including phone number. All these things help with returning your pet to you.
If you have lost your pet, all stray animals collected by the RSPCA are placed on www.petslocated.com.
If you find a stray dog you need to phone your local dog warden to collect it. If you have found another stray animal please contact 0300 1234 999 for advice.
