Hugo - Crossbreed - 1 Year 7 months- Male

Meet our handsome Hugo, a lad who's larger than life and on the lookout for a home to call his own. Hugo made an instant impression on us upon arriving at the centre with his infectious energy and mischievous ways, and we found quickly that there isn't a dull moment when this boy's around! Unfortunately, Hugo didn't find it the easiest to settle in at the beginning, and it has taken us some time to build up his trust. As much as this boy likes to put on a brave face and try to appear completely unfazed by the things going on around him, he sadly does have a few anxieties, and so his future family would need to be able to offer plenty of patience and reassurance whilst he's settling into his new home and routines, so that he can learn that the world isn't all that worrisome. Hugo is very much a young pup in a big dog's body - he doesn't quite grasp his strength and size, and although he does have quite a few tricks up his sleeve, his focus isn't always the easiest to gain. He would need a family who are able to nurture him both mentally and physically, and who can understand that keeping his brain busy is equally as important as burning off his energy with lots of exercise. For now, Hugo would be best suited to being the only animal in the home, but he has shown some interest in his fellow residents here at the centre, and so would likely benefit from having a few doggy friends in future with positive introductions (and once he has brushed up on his etiquette, of course). We would also advise that Hugo lives in an adult only home where he can make the most of the undivided attention he needs and is so deserving of, and where he can be guided through overcoming the experiences that he can find a little daunting.
