This handsome boy is the breathtaking Barney! From the moment he came into our care, Barney had made it his mission to fill the big shoes that comes with becoming our residential big friendly giant, and we are elated to tell you that he has settled into this role flawlessly. Barney is an incredibly extroverted character, wanting to greet each and every individual he sees while out and about. Every face he comes across gets the same goofy smile, the same light-speed tail wag: Barney adores everybody with the same wonderful unabashed enthusiasm! Barney only asks for two things from the people that surround him. To love him back in equal measures and to not be too shy of slobber!
We are aware that Barney's looks may create some predisposed ideas in some people, but rest assured, Barney is the champion advocate for bigger dogs all across the globe. Using his golden temperament, it is a source of great pride for him to prove to the public that big does not have to equal scary. In fact, big can mean as gentle as a lamb. This fact is true when you take Barney's lead manners into account. Barney is a bit of a moocher, he loves to trot leisurely between the best sniffing spots, always keeping an eye on you to make sure you are never too far behind him. After coming to us in a very skinny condition, Barney has been embarking on his weight gaining journey and potential adopters must be up to the task of not only bringing him up to an ideal weight, but also being able to combat those big puppy dog eyes when the time comes to get him onto a more regular feeding schedule. Adopters will be advised on how to go about this in depth and his progression during and between meetings here on centre. Barney could live in a family with children 16+ that are confident around bigger dogs, however he would prefer to be the only pet in the household as Barney likes to keep his people firmly for himself.
