Blackberry Farm Animal Centre

Volunteering for RSPCA Blackberry Farm

There are lots of ways you can help us at the centre - volunteer dog walking, cat and small animal socilisers, reception, home visiting, fund raising and so much more.

Another way to help is to offer to become a dog fosterer.  These amazing people help us by offering their home, on a temporary basis, to enable a dog, who is not currently able to be rehomed, the opportunity to live in a home and not in a kennel.    Are you interested in becoming one of our amazing dog fosterers, then we would love to hear from you. Please email blackberryfarm@rspca.org.uk or pop into the centre to talk to us if you would like to know more about how the scheme works.

Here is what one of our fosterers had to say of their experience.

"Fostering Bear was, and is still, the most rewarding and enjoyable experience we have been apart of. We fostered Bear for 6 months while his case was going through the courts system. Bear was a nervous dog with no prior knowledge of ‘how to be a dog’ - he didn’t know how to play, how to run or that food can be good! Within a few months, he learnt to fetch toys, play in the snow, he put on 2kg in weight and had his very first professional hair cut. We enrolled him on the RSPCA training where he learnt basic commands and to trust humans. It is fantastic to see that we have changed a dogs life, and with lots of love, Bear is now as bouncy as his curly hair!"
